There were definitely three themes for the night: white, aubergine, and texture. I enjoyed all of them to varying degrees. Let the Emmy dress judging begin!
Rita Wilson

Naya Rivera of Glee.

Lo Bosworth

Rose Byrne in Gucci dress and shoes.

Amber Riley in a Melissa Masse gown and Chopard jewels.

Toni Collette in a patterned strapless Valentino gown, Bochic jewelry and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Eek, floral prints like this do not belong on the red carpet. It looks like the bottom of her dress got dragged through some mud. What was Toni thinking? C-
Tina Fey feeling fancy in a beaded Oscar de la Renta gown and Lorraine Schwartz earrings.
Ms. Fey has had some serious misses on the red carpet over the years, but I have to give it to her this time, I like this. I wouldn't like it on everyone, but I do enjoy it on her. B+

Sofia Vergara in a saffron embroidered strapless Carolina Herrera gown and Lorraine Schwartz canary gold jewelry.

Sofia Vergara is a stunning and beautiful woman. Unfortunately this dress doesn't really show that off. It's just so strange with it's zigzagging middle and yellow hue. Not a fan. C-
Rutina Wesley in a black and white dress and black Christian Louboutin satin slingbacks.
Hate this dress. Hate the print. Hate the slit. Hate the skirt. Blech. D
Padma Lakshmi in Carolina Herrera and necklace from her own jewelry line.

Padma Lakshmi is a gorgeous human being. I love navy on her. I'm undecided about that crazy necklace, but I'll let it slide because she's hot. B
Olivia Munn in a Zac Posen gown and Bulgari jewels.

BOOOOOOOOOOOORING. Hate the color. and the bodice is too low on her. I fear that her boobs will pop out at any given moment. C-
Nina Dobrev in a hammered silk gown by Zuhair Murad.

What a gorgeous way to make your Emmys debut. Then followed by a dance number on stage. I think I might be in love with this Nina Dobrev character. A

Lea Michele in an Oscar de la Renta gown, Brian Atwood heels, Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace, and Swarovski clutch.
With the midnight blue color and the oomph of rufflage, this dress screamed EWP. I was destined to be in love with it, but all I could think about was how similar it looked to the blue dress she wore to the Golden Globes last year. Docking points for lack of creativity. A-
Kyra Sedgwick in a Monique Lhuillier gown and Ofira jewels.

I'm enjoying the color, and actually okay with the texture to a degree, but somewhere between the concept of the dress and actually putting it on Kyra, something goes wrong I feel. I just don't think she looks nice. Maybe it's the hair. Maybe it's that lipstick color. I dunno, I'm just not for it. C+
Kristen Whig

What on earth is this contraption? No animal prints or feathers on the red carpet please. Thanks. F
Kim Kardashian in a white Grecian-inspired Marchesa gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
I usually think Kim Kardashian looks like a trashy hooker, but she looked positively beautiful and ethereal in this soft and romantic gown. This is what Rose Byrne wishes she looked like at the Emmys. A+

Kim Kardashian in a white Grecian-inspired Marchesa gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Keri Russell in vintage Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture gown and Jimmy Choo shoes
I love color on the red carpet, but I just found this dress very simple and boring. And it definitely emphasized her flatness. C-
Kelly Osbourne in a Tony Ward Couture dress.

Her body is rocking, I'll give that to her. But that dress isn't. Sorry, K-Os. C
Katrina Bowden in a ruffled lavender BCBG Max Azria column gown paired with a blush Swarovski clutch and Everlon diamond knot earrings.

Do I have to write something about this? I'm tired. D
Julie Bown in a J. Mendel gown, Neil Lane jewelry, Sergio Rossi shoes and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

Navy and ruffled. This dress is speaking my language. Too bad I don't like that paneling in the front. B-
Julie Benz in an ivory silk one-shoulder gown with beaded cut-out hip detail from Pamella Roland’s Resort 2011 collection.

I'm bored. But very happy smile. C
Julia Ormond in a bright fuchsia Escada gown, which she accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

Like the color. Like the ruffle on the chest. Nice look on the Emmy-winning actress. B
Julianna Margulies in a navy L'Wren Scott gown (and her own shoes!)
This dress looked just too heavy and unseasonal for this scorching August day. And I didn't like it. D

Jessalyn Gilsig in a red Nicole Miller gown.

The hair and makeup are wonderful on Jessalyn. And the red looks great on her. It just doesn't have as much oomph as I would like. B
Jennifer Carpenter in a single-sleeve sequin gown and Brian Atwood gunmetal heels.

I really love this on her. Really catches your eye and makes her look great. A-
Jenna Ushkowitz in a scarlet Kevan Hall halter gown, gold and diamond Neil Lane jewelry, and a Judith Leiber clutch.
Love red and gold on a woman of color. Especially Jenna with her creamy skin and dark black locks. Hate the shoes though. In what world do silver shoes go with gold earrings? B-
Jenna Fischer in a chiffon gown by Rare Vintage with a paillette-trimmed bodice. She toted a Raven Kauffman Couture clutch and wore Diamond in the Rough jewelry.

The color of that dress has me swooning. Seriously swooning. And coupled with her sexy waves, I'm in serious like right now. A-
Jayma Mays in a navy Burberry Prossurm gown, Neil Lane necklace, Ferragamo clutch, and Jimmy Choo heels.
Oh Jayma. What a drab and strange look you put together for the Emmys. You'd have been better off stealing something from Emma's closet. I do love her pencil skirts and cardigan brooches. D
January Jones in Atelier Versace gown and Cartier diamonds
This dress made it on many best dressed lists. Too many. I hated this dress. Hate. Hate. It looks like she has coffee filters on her boobs. Seriously. And I just am not behind the length change she has going on. And I hate the hair. A lot. Sorry, folks, but this is one of my most hated of the night. F
Jane Lynch in a single-shoulder custom taffeta gown from L.A.-based designer Ali Rahimi and a Swarovski bag.
I love aubergine. I think it's a fantastic color for evening wear. This reminds me of the bridesmaid dresses from my wedding. So clearly I love it. Jane Lynch usually has some problems with a nice feminine look but she really pulled out all the stop for her Emmy-winning night. A
Jane Krakowski wore a custom one-shoulder Escada gown with Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings

Sorry people who want me to write an opinion here. I'm falling asleep right now, not because of the dress but because it's 10 PM. B
Heidi Klum in a Marchesa minidress and Christian Louboutin spiked heels.
TOO SHORT. AAAAH TOO SHORT. And, this is blasphemy, but I have to say I don't like those shoes. At all. I really hate studs on shoes. D
Heather Morris in a sequined column gown from Ina Soltani, diamond bracelet and studs by Kwiat and a satin Swarovski clutch.

I really like this look for a blonde - gold shimmer, bold lip. It's just her pose that's got me all turned off. Stop posing like that, Heather! B
Eva Longoria Parker in a Robert Rodriguez gowns and Loren Jewels earrings
Mrs. Parker always stuns on the red carpet. I like that about her. This dress is no exception. Love the train. Love the texture through the skirt. Love the addition of red chandelier earrings for a pop of color. A-
Emily Deschanel in a Max Azria Atelier dress, Platt Boutique Jewelry hoops and a Neil Lane bangle.

It's like Emily Deschanel took a list of things I love in a dress - purple! ruffles! one-shoulder! pleats! - and then thought the best way to win me over was to put ALL of them in one dress. Sorry, Em, but you were wrong. It's just too much look for me. C
Emily Blunt in a lavendar Christian Dior gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Lauren Merkin clutch.
I love that she added a flower to her hair. I'm all about flowers in my hair these days. I also love the soft pastel on a night of darker gowns. I just can't seem to get behind the weird circley things hanging from it. Is that just me? B-
Elisabeth Moss in Donna Karan.

Elisabeth Moss looks positively scrumptious in this dove gray goddess gown. Soft and feminine. All the things I love. A
Edie Falco wore satin Christian Louboutin pumps with a one-shoulder black draped chiffon gown, clutch, black pave diamond earrings and a white gold link bracelet, all by Bottega Veneta.
Love the hair. Love the minimalist makeup that leaves her looking so fresh. Really just don't know what to do with the dress. It makes me think "saloon girl." Doesn't it? Maybe she came to the Emmys directly from filming a Western. C
Claire Danes wore a stunning Giorgio Armani Privé muted bronze evening gown fully encrusted with Swarovski drop crystals and iridescent sequin beading.
This dress was my absolute FAVORITE of the night. Just so elegant and gorgeous. Everything glamorous in just one gown. Love. A+
I love Joan. I love her curves. I love her red hair. I just love all things Joan. But it's always seemed poor Christina didn't know how to dress her curves when not dressing from the 60s. But I think this look is just soft and lovely on her. A-

Anna Paquin with husband and co-star Stephen Moyer, both in Alexander McQueen.

A little bold and crazy, but I think I like it. I'll forever miss Alexander McQueen. B+
Amy Poehler in a Max Azria Atelier dress

Amy gave birth to baby #2 just last month! I'd say she looks fantastic. Good for her for rocking her mommy curves. A

Lauren Graham in a black and white Yigal Azrouël gown.
This dress is the most hideous thing I've ever seen. I thought it was a jumpsuit at first. But it's not, it's a dress. It just doesn't even seem to fit her at all. What is going on? F

Kelly Osbourne in a Tony Ward Couture dress.

Okay, I didn't comment on all of them. I'm just a tired ol preggo EWP. It's way past my bedtime.
