Oscars 2012: Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen

Ms. Chastain has been a stellar disappointment this awards season.  She either doesn't have a stylist or has the worst one ever.  She's a gorgeous girl but she's been showing up on red carpet after red carpet in the saddest gowns that fit wrong in some way.   But this, THIS, my friends, is how it's done.  Long live McQueen.  I know people frown on print on the red carpet, but this is a regal beauty.  Heavenly.  And with such a grandiose dress, she smartly kept the accessories to an absolute minimum and had super unfussy hair.  Love.

Do: Dress Up For Work

One should always always put her best foot forward in the workplace. Just because it's okay to wear jeans and flip flops to your office doesn't mean you actually should. Take pride in yourself and in your work and put some effort into your look. No one will take a hoodie wearing, flip flop sporting woman seriously, and you're less likely to move up the work ladder. Uch, hoodies. *shudder*

There's no better time to update your work wardrobe than now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fall for one reason: fall work clothes. Seriously, this is my favoritest season for work attire. The herringbones, the tweeds. The wines, grays, and pumpkins. The jackets, the pumps, the perfect cardigan weather. It all makes me so happy. *swoon*

I've culled the interwebs for some fun fall work pieces for you. Check them out below. If I worked, I'd be all over a few of these. Oh how I love fall.

Buckingham Palace to Exhibit Kate’s Wedding Ensemble and the Royal Fabergé Collection

The Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress along with her wedding tiara and earrings will go on display at Buckingham Palace during its annual summer opening. As big as this display is for much of the world (an estimated 3 billion saw the British royal wedding), it may be overshadowed by what is considered by many to be the world’s greatest collection of Fabergé pieces

SAG Awards 2011: Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen
This was hands down my favorite look of the night. I love a print on the red carpet, as long as it's the right print. And Mila knocked it out of the park with this crimson and black, belted McQueen gown. And I love how she lets the dress do the talking by foregoing busy hair or makeup and just wearing some soft locks and bold eyeliner.

LOVE.

Top ten shoes from the Spring 2010 runway

(in my opinion... please don't yell at me for not including the McQueen monsters... they scare me.)
10. Giambattista Valli

9. Fendi8. Versace7. Dries Van Noten6. Lanvin5. Chanel4. Christian Louboutin (used in 3.1 Phillip Lim show)3. Versace2. Christian Louboutin (used in 3.1 Phillip Lim show)1. ValentinoMost of these would induce broken necks if worn in real life, but they are still fun to look at.

Update: Reason McQueens scare me below in normal shoe comparison.
