Emmys 2011: Heather Morris

I really love Heather Morris. She's one of my favorite things about Glee. [Which was totally a snore on Tuesday, don't you think? How did such a great show get so very boring so very fast?] But this look has me as confused as her character on the show. Why is her hair so high? Why does this dress make her look painfully flat? Why so many ruffles? And why oh WHY does she only have one earring on?

I love aubergine. It was my color for my wedding to Mr. EWP. So really any aubergine gown makes me very happy and bubbly and nostalgic. But I can't get totally bubbly about this David Meister dress. It just doesn't fit Jane right, and that large expanse above the neckline needs a necklace or something to fill it. But Ms. Lynch's makeup is positively to die for.

For a young 20-something girl, this is such an old lady look. The color is bland, the necklace and hair too done and matronly. And that makeup. Oh that awful makeup. She needs to go to a new makeup artist who understands an Asian woman's makeup needs. I get so sad when things like this happen to women of color. Happens to me all the time.

I think Amber Riley did a great job with her curves at the Globes, but this is just TOO MUCH look for a plus size woman. She looks gigantic, the dress is so big, and her lipstick is ridiculously magenta.

I don't know about you, but I don't like tea-length dresses. They just hit at the weirdest spot on your leg making anyone who wears one look stumpy. And Dianna Agron is no exception. The dress is lovely and would have been great shorter or longer, but at a tea-length, I feel like poor Dianna had her legs chopped off. Poor thing.

As much as I love Glee, I really CANNOT stand Lea Michele. At all. And from the flurry of tweets I saw every time she came on screen at the GGs, I'm pretty sure everyone else on the planet feels the same way.

It may be this hatred that leads me to dislike this look. Sure it's got drama, which I enjoy, but the bubblegumness just seems like a Marilyn Monroe knockoff and like she's trying way too hard. And, lord, did you see her overdramatic face at the GGs? It was like she thought she was auditioning for something.

I may not care for her characer on Glee like at all, but Dianna Agron sure gives good red carpet. She is always a stunner and last night was not an exception. The nude dress was romantic and soft, and her hair matched the mood perfectly. Makeup was understated, with just enough glam by the eyes to really complete the look. Perfect Hollywood glamour.
