Then a few hours later, I grabbed my friend Niki, and decided to pump up the style for a little more of a night look. Wearing skinny pants without a big ol top on top was definitely out of my comfort zone, what with the baby blubber left over and all, but I decided to try it out anyway. Got to get out of your comfort zone and try new things! I felt better about my outfit choice when I got this odd compliment from Mr. EWP. I was freaking about the skinny pants post-baby and he asked, "Are you wearing Spanx?" To which I responded that I wasn't and he said, "Nice, good job!" Haha, so good job to me for looking spanx-like without spanx.
Chanel, $428
Now that's what I call sun protection!
Now for my super exciting purchase. Y'all, I have looked high and low and could NOT find a for realsies British-esque fascinator. None of this headband with feathers nonsense, I wanted something artistic and on the side of my head. And look what I found. I'm in heaven.
Charming Charlie, $14.97
So what do you think? Am I British yet?
Calypso St. Barth for Target, $36.99
Maternal America, $98 Over the however many next posts, I've decided to bring you my favorite things. It's just like Oprah's favorite things, but without the free stuff.
First up is one of my favoritest, can't-live-without-it items: my Tory Burch reva ballet flats.
Yes, I do actually wear flats. Walking around the city can really tear up a pair of heels, it was just too harmful to do anymore, so I switched to flats. The only problem: flats give me blisters. Yes, I can wear any ridiculous 5 inch heel out there, but put me in some basic flats, and the back of my feet break out in blisters. I think it's their way of rebelling. I've tried every brand, every flat, but they always just rubbed me wrong. Until I found these:
Tory Burch, $195 @They are, in a word, heavenly. So comfortable. Actual soles that most flats don't give you, so you don't feel like you're walking barefoot on the street. And oh so pretty. I wear them ALL THE TIME. So much so that I had to cover all my neutral basics: black, brown, and nude. They are my babies and I couldn't imagine my shoe wardrobe without them. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
