Shopping In Paris - Oo La La

One of the things I was oh so excited about on our trip to Paris was not the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower, but the shopping.  Oh the shopping!  Every corner we turned was another fabulous store. We ran across three Chanels in one day. THREE.

There was a Dior that was an entire city block. It was all Dior in all directions, including a baby Dior! Sadly, BabyWP didn't get any presents from baby Dior.

We perused the displays at Moschino.

 In our time in Paris we saw lines for three stores: 1) the Apple store, which has lines outside all over the globe, so I wasn't so surprised.
2) Louis Vuitton

And while it isn't exactly my thing, I guess I can see the draw of this ginormous Louis Vuitton store. I was only slightly tempted to yell at the people "Why are you waiting in line for this???!"  

The other line (which I had a picture of but has somehow disappeared from this post) was... wait for it...

ABERCROMBIE & FITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The Paris Abercrombie had guards and a LINE.  A LINE. It was so ridiculous. I didn't understand. At all.

 But in non-ridiculous store news, we did make a stop at the tres adorable baby store Petite Bateau.  BabyWP needed a Paris present (as did some other babies we know).

 Now that we've done baby shopping, can we do me?  Pretty please?

We made a stop in Missoni, and I really must say that it is just NOT for me.  It's all so loud, and while I am for bold and vibrant, I'm not for Missoni's version of bold and vibrant. Their Target line was tame in comparison. [fyi, I was not a fan of the Target line because I thought it was too busy]  But a plus for them - their sales staff was SO NICE.  Ridiculously nice and fawny over us.  

 I was oddly excited about going to Bottega Veneta.  What can I say, I love shoes.

 Especially if they're this pretty.

 From there we hopped into Lanvin.  Mr. EWP seemed to think all designers were the same, but he got over that idea when we went into Lanvin and a plain black skirt cost $2500.  Not all designers are created equal.

 Mr. EWP's only store request was Hermes, where we discovered they sold horse bridles and riding gear. Who knew?

 I don't like these shoes, but I thought they way Tod's arranged them was pretty so I took a picture.

 As for me, I made a beeline to Yves Saint Laurent.

 What did I buy? Well that shall remain a mystery... until my post on my Parisian purchases.

An EWP in Paris (& London)

I'm heading out today with Mr. EWP and BabyWP across the Atlantic for a little vacay.

We'll be heading to London and Paris for some food and fun, and I hope some fashion.

But I wouldn't want to leave you on your own all week. You'd miss me too much I'm sure. So I'm declaring it EWP Review week and giving you a new restaurant review everyday. Sorry to all the non-Chicagoans. But now you'll know where to go (or not to go) when you come to visit. And really, you must visit Chicago, it's fantastic.

I'll be comparing its fantasticness to London and Paris and will report back with my findings next week.

*Knock* *Knock* Anyone There?

Well, if there is in fact anyone out there, thought I'd let you know there'll be a posting vacay for the next week as I run off to San Francisco today for babymoon #2. Yay! And I get to see Foodiebia!! Double yay!

My NYC Purchase

Since I know you must be on the edge of your seats waiting for my best and worst dressed at the Emmys post, I thought I'd tide you over with what I bought in NYC this past weekend.

EVERY time I go to NYC I spend ridiculous amounts of money on shopping. It's just so fun and there are so many stores. And the sales tax is way less than Chicago's. Who could resist?

This time around I was much more limited in what stores I could shop in, but I did google for maternity boutiques in NYC and found a few. My fearless shopping guide Alexis trekked through Soho to the one place in all of Soho with maternity clothes, according to Google anyway, only to find out it was no longer there. Undeterred, Alexis did some more googling and led us to the West Village where we did in fact find a maternity store. Phew! There was no way I could leave NYC without even trying on a piece of clothing!

And try on I did, unfortunately, I wasn't too big a fan of what I found. For some reason maternity stores think pregnant women are in mourning and only wear black. Where's the color? Where's a print? Where's the fun?

But I did use the all black options to find a black pencil skirt for work. Not too exciting of an NYC purchase, but at least it was something. If I hadn't bought this, I would have left with NOTHING for myself. And that, my friends, has never ever happened before. And I wasn't about to let it happen this time.

An EWP Getaway

You may not think so, but deep down you are totally jealous. Seriously, look at Rafa's arms. YUM!

There will also be some beach laying involved. I just haven't figured out if wearing Spanx under a bikini is kosher. I'll play it by ear :)

As Promised: Miami Dress #1

I promised you I'd take pics of the 2 dresses I picked up at Nordies for Miami. Well, I'm coming through on one of them. I was too lazy to try them on and take pics, and they just don't look right not worn. This one looks fine, but you can't really tell how cute it is when it's sadly laying on my bed. The other dress definitely looks way cuter on, so maybe you'll get a pic post-Miami

Beach Getaway Shopping

So, as I do around this time of year, I've decided I need to get away to some place warm, some place with beaches, some place with expensive shopping. So the hubs and I are jetting off to Miami this week.


The trip was a little last minute, but that doesn't mean that I don't have time to order things and get overnight shipping.
